Native species of iris that grow from maritime Washington to California have been crossbred for their great beauty. Requirements are loose acidic soil with good drainage, moisture the first year to establish the plant, mulching will help. All are 12 to 15 inches tall blooming in May. Not recommended for areas outside the Pacific Northwest maritime zone 6–8.
